The Stone Cottage is located in a quiet and unspoiled environment on one of the most beautiful coast roads of the world. The views are stunning over the Ocean and mountains. Environment The Stone Cottage is the ideal place for nature lovers for walking (you can step into the Beara Way walking trail within 1 km.), horse riding, swimming, fishing etc. You can also tour the famous Ring of Beara and Ring of Kerry, both giving access to magnificent sea and mountain scenery and its abounds with historical and archaeological sites. The Beara Peninsula is a grand day out, visit the many Galleries on your tour. The cottage is only 8 km. away from the idyllic village of Eyeries, with its characteristic coloured houses, originating from Viking influences, where you can do your shopping for daily needs. Only 13 km. away is Castletownbere, a lovely fishing town with plenty shops, restaurants and traditional pubs with food, music and dance. A car ferry runs every day to Bere Island. Only 7 km. away you will find the village of Allihies with its beautiful sandy beaches and numerous deserted coves, and spectacular folded rocks and minerals at the famous Copper Mines. The Copper Mine Museum is housed in the old Methodist church which was built in 1845. For those interested there is a 9 hole golf course in Castletownbere,and for those like hiking there are five exhilarating hikes on the Wild Atlantic Way, enjoy here the beauty too.
