Over Mas Rignas,

'The Rignas house' is nestled in a small valley below the castle. The original part of this old farm, where silkworms were once bred, dates back to the 16th century. There is a seasonal creek next to the house, and the hills around it are covered with fragrant herbs. Each season has its own beauty here: in spring the almond trees blossom, followed by yellow Scotch broom and purple Judas trees in summer, and red boxwood in fall. The sweet scent of rosemary fills the air all year. Rignas is a great place all year long. The summers are warm, but often cooled by a light breeze. Spring and fall are pleasant and sunny, and winters are mostly mild. If it ever gets cold - the house is centrally heated. On chilly fall evenings, the fireplace provides warmth and ambiance. In winter, skiing in the Vercors is a short drive away. The house Rignas The house sleeps six. The roomy master bedroom opens onto the deck and has an en-suite bathroom. A loft provides further sleeping accommodation, and an additional apartment-style bedroom on the first floor has its own bathroom and is directly accessible from the yard. In front of the house a staircase leads up to broad stone veranda that gives access to the second-floor entrance hall. This connects to a kitchen with a full range of high-end appliances, including a sealed cook top, combi oven/microwave, and a fridge with large freezer compartment. The dining nook leads into the living room, where a fireplace provides a cosy atmosphere. The location Rignas is located at the end of a narrow gravel road, which assures privacy and a safe place for children to play. The view over the Rhône valley and the mountains in the background is simply breathtaking. On a clear day one can see the Mont Ventoux! The surroundings of Rignas In the morning you can get fresh croissants from the village bakery, which is only a 10-minute walk away. Rochemaure also has a butcher, a grocery, a pharmacy, a news stand, a barber, a hotel with bar, and even a pizzeria. There are wineries throughout the region, of course. It's 8 minutes by car to Montélimar, which is a typical French town with sidewalk cafés, narrow streets, great stores, and a market. You can extend your trips to visit larger towns like Orange, Vienne, Avignon, and countless other places in the Provence and beyond. In the immediate surroundings of Rignas you can go for walks and bike rides. An 18-hole golf course, a swimming pool, and tennis courts are all within a 15-minute drive.
